Homemade wax remover help?!?

alright, so i bought a waxing pot, wax the strips and all that the other day. i jus got done using it and i got some on my counter and shirt and arm, the wax is somewhat hard and wont come off with the wax rremover strips, is there an home remidies to take the wax off? yes i know i should have bought the wax remover but i didnt!
