Barn Swallow Issues!!!?

Just want to correct the other answers..House Finches ARE native..not sure what she is talking about..she may be confusing them with House SPARROWS. There are two other species not native which are European Starlings, and Rock Dove (Pigeons). ALL other birds are native and protected by law. Also, her suggestion of putting something smelly will not work as birds have a very poorly developed sense of smell and could not care less if you put something smelly there. If you don't want them building in the same spot again..then block off the area so they cannot build there. That is a much better solution then letting these poor birds waste all that time and energy building a nest just so you can tear it down. Put up screening or an object to keep them from that spot.
